GOING TO FOSTER PARENT COLLEGE - RIGHT IN YOUR OWN HOME

Northwest Media Inc. offers new online foster parent training

Eugene, OR - February 10, 2003 -- Northwest Media, Inc. announced today that its Foster Parent College, a series of web-based trainings for foster and adoptive families, is now available online.

“In these times when state budgets get severely cut while the demand for qualified foster parent training is rising, we are proud to offer a solution that meets everyone’s needs”, says Lee White, President and CEO of Northwest Media. “State agencies can dramatically lower their costs while families can study the training material in the privacy of their own homes and in their own time”.

As the first of a series of 18 training pieces, the program currently available online deals with Anger Outbursts. Dr. Rick Delaney, nationally recognized expert and author of Off Road Parenting, guides the student through several easy-to-understand, interactive steps. He presents different family structures and problems, recapitulates the outcome of each scenario, and suggests appropriate steps to deal with the child’s individual behavior.

To give families the opportunity to familiarize themselves with online training, Northwest Media is currently offering it for free for an introductory period at its online store’s web site www.socialLearning.com.

The 18-part training is grouped in three major categories, examining Children’s Serious Emotional Problems, School Issues, and Kinship Care.
